WITH GROUPS CREATING PROGRAMS TO ENCOURAGE FEMALES TO CONSIDER STEM, WHAT IS THE BIGGEST BARRIER TO ENTRY THAT IS STILL PREVALENT TODAY?\
I think the biggest barrier to entry to STEM is, ourselves. As someone without a Computer Science background, venturing into tech requires a strong purpose. What drives you to go into tech? What motivates you be in tech? Why? If you don't have a purpose, our beliefs to "being able to make it" can be easily shattered.
Instead of relying on X or Y to give us the opportunity to be in STEM, I think all of us can shift to the "creator" mindset. We can think of ourselves as someone who are able to invent the opportunities for ourselves. For example, you can pick up programming without CS degree. You can build tech products and create something useful for the market. All you need is "why".
WHAT OR WHO INSPIRES YOU?
I draw inspiration from real do-ers, makers and innovators. They don't have to be superstars. I often encounter these people in real life or on the Internet. Someone who execute and get things done. Someone who says what they have done rather than what they are going to do. Someone who see the world through wisdom and unique lenses. Because these are the people who can really change the world.
WHAT IS YOUR PROUDEST MOMENT/ACCOMPLISHMENT?
My proudest moment is launching my app "I Lazy To Read" to the public. I was awarded as "#1 Product Of The Day" by Product Hunt, with over 770 upvotes in less than 2 days. In the context of startup, I have validated an idea based on usage, adoption rate and request for features. Another reason why I feel so strongly as a milestone, because I validated with myself that I have the skillset to build + launch products in 24 hours, fast experiments and speed of execution. I happily wear "I'm a do-er" as my badge of honor.
